Pam Dyer describes Infographics as "visual representations of information, data, or knowledge. They illustrate information that would be unwieldy in text form and they act as a kind of visual shorthand, making information easy to understand and consume."

Research

Footfalls&Heartbeat's have no identity. No brand, no logo, no image. Looking at brands brought me to Raymond Loewy. This man was a famous designer who played a part in defining modern industrial design. His work included redesigning logos and advertising material for shell oil and lucky strike cigarettes.

Anatomy of a Company

Beginning with the basic information that Footfalls & Heartbeats has provided i concluded that they were looking to take a technology (smart, woven, washable fabric) and apply it to the two main fields of 1. health monitoring / warning systems and 2. sports related performance monitoring. Graphically this is represented as a cross, a human symbol, with Footfalls & Heartbeats at the "heart" of the image. The left and right branches are respectively the sporting and health interests, the head of the cross is an example of an interface. This represents communication, how the information, brand, identity etc is told to the client. The image directly below the heart represents the actual garment. The bottom image is a remix of an old song "so light is her footfall". The "metronomy remix" is a bit like a steady heartbeat or the rythym of a steady footstep. Metronony, a metronome.
The image above can be cut out and folded into a cube shape, so each image can be viewed seperately but is still connected to the whole.
